You can create a boutique like feeling within your own home. Imagine your bedroom being as sophisticated as a lavish hotel room! All you need is some lighting, a plump bed, and few extra touches.

What is the thread count of your current bed sheets? A simple way to make your bedroom more lavish is to invest in a higher thread count. You’ll appreciate the look and feel of sheets that have a thread count of 400 or higher. A comfy bed can’t be beat. Add padding between the mattress and the sheets for extra comfort. Next it’s time to head to the store and select some beautiful pillows in sophisticated colors.

Keep the windows simple. Unless you just want one, there is no need to spend time and money on valances. Matching heavy curtains and coordinating sheer curtains are both functional and beautiful. Look for curtains that match the style of your new room.

The heavier curtains will block out more light. This can be very luxurious on a lazy Sunday morning. It’s also very helpful for anyone who works nights and must sleep during the day. But by opening the heavy curtains and using only the sheer curtains, you can allow sunlight to come through. If you have a desk in your office or just like to enjoy your bedroom when you aren’t sleeping, you’ll appreciate this. Try relaxing in your new room with a book on a sunny day.

Simple colors and plush bedding is the key. Is there any better feeling than coming home from a long day and laying down in a big fluffy bed and looking around at your elegant colors with the sun shining through those sheer curtains? Probably not, with the exception of being able to sleep in as long as you’d like by blocking out the sunlight with your heavy curtains. Enjoy!
